This is the Arnott’s Jatz Clix, a variant of the original malted cracker known simply as Jatz. It proudly claims to be ‘the best tasting melt-in-your-mouth cracker’ and earned a five-star rating for the most satisfied customers in the 2022 Canstar Blue awards in the crackers category.

The biscuits were 4.5 cm in diameter and 0.5 cm in height, featuring a scalloped edge, seven small holes arranged in a hexagonal shape, and a uniformly golden-brown exterior dusted with a sprinkle of coarse salt.

Upon tasting, the teeth easily sank into the cracker, revealing a very open, loosely baked texture. The crunch resembled more of a soft crumble than an audible crispness. The biscuit swiftly rehydrated on the palate, presenting a savoury sweetness in the body, followed by a subtle buttery quality towards the end. The salt on the biscuit’s surface clung to the lips, providing a savoury finish. The ‘melted’ biscuit lingered in the aftertaste, somewhat attaching to the teeth. While these biscuits were indeed ‘melt-in-the-mouth’, we prefer the crisper and darker bake of the original cracker when serving dips.
This Arnott’s Jatz Clix contained 250 g. It was produced in Australia and received as part of a promotion in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
