The beverage was an opaque golden-yellow hue, carrying a sweet passionfruit aroma with an underlying soft creaminess and a moderate level of carbonation. When consumed chilled, the bright passionfruit flavour hinted at by the aroma took on a notably mellower character. Initial sips immediately introduced the sweetness of passionfruit, yet devoid of the tangy tartness associated with the fresh fruit. As the sip progressed, the passionfruit notes diminished, giving way to a ‘hops’-like dryness and flavour. Sweet undertones of yogurt followed, contributing to a distinctly creamy mouthfeel. The passionfruit notes made a return in the finish, accompanied by a gentle acidity that lingered in the aftertaste.
The overall flavor profile of the drink landed somewhere between a passionfruit-flavored non-alcoholic beer and a creaming soda. While enjoyable to try, it wasn’t a flavor we would actively consider purchasing.
