This is the Frito-Lay Lay’s Potato Chips Mentaiko Chicken.
The chips were thinly sliced and coated in an orange-hued seasoning powder, emitting an indistinct fried aroma. Upon tasting, the initial bite brought forth the savoury chicken flavour, followed by the distinctive essence of mentaiko in the body, reminiscent of the soft and creamy quality of tomalley. Towards the finish, the seafood notes gave way to a noticeable heat from the chilli, which lingered softly on the palate and intensified with each subsequent chip. Overall, while we typically prefer thicker-cut potato chips, we appreciated the added depth that the mentaiko and chilli brought to the regular savoury chicken flavour.
This Frito-Lay Lay’s Potato Chips Mentaiko Chicken contained 185 g. It was produced in Taiwan and purchased in Hong Kong in 2023.
