This is the Kotobuki Aomori Ringo Mitsuka. This product consisted of warabimochi made with candied apples from Aomori Prefecture, manufactured by Kotobuki Seika for JA Sōma-mura Ringo no Mori in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture.

The internal packaging featured a pattern resembling a transverse cross-section of an apple, while the box contained six individually wrapped pieces of warabimochi, each encased in coated washi.

Each piece easured about 3.5 to 4 cm in diamter and 1.5 cm in height. The warabimochi had a translucent off-white hue with a yellow centre.

On tasting, the warabimochi offered a clean cut with each bite and delivered a mellow sweetness that reached the apple filling seamlessly. The filling itself provided a rich apple flavour, highlighted by tiny candied cubes with a pleasing texture—neither mushy nor crunchy. These cubes contributed a fresh tartness that balanced the sweetness, reminiscent of the bright flavour and texture of Tsugaru apples. Eaten whole, the warabimochi developed into a rich sweetness as it melted on the palate, making the acidity of the apple filling particularly welcome. Overall, the vibrant apple flavour, the smooth bounce of the warabimochi, and the creative incorporation of regional ingredients made this an enjoyable and distinctive gift option.
