On tasting, the jasmine green tea was immediately apparent, offering a rich, dewy, and almost syrupy floral quality. The flavour avoided being overly sweet or perfumey, with a welcome toasty undertone from the green tea base. The jasmine notes lingered pleasantly on the palate. The drink had the smooth, slightly thicker-than-water texture of a milk tea without an overt dairy presence. This was a refreshing and unapologetically jasmine-forward milk tea that evoked memories of straight jasmine tea.
The “snowy” element, jasmine-infused whipped cream, was equally delightful. It carried a distinct and dewy jasmine flavour without the overly indulgent richness often associated with whipped cream. The caramelised pecans provided a satisfying crunch, delivering a rich nuttiness and a subtle savoury note that balanced the cream’s sweetness beautifully.
The drink’s layering, with the jasmine whipped cream separated from the jasmine tea by a layer of ice, allowed the delicate jasmine notes in the cream to stand apart from the more intense jasmine and green tea notes in the drink itself. This thoughtful composition ensured the unique qualities of both elements were distinct and fully appreciated.
