This is the Ragueneau Sasaki Yakkoi Sablé Aomori Apple Caramel, featuring a sablé biscuit with a white chocolate centre flavoured with caramel, incorporating juice and fibre from apples grown in Aomori.

Each package contained a single sablé measuring 8.5 cm in diameter and 6 mm thick. The golden-brown biscuit had a visible caramel-coloured filling at its centre. A cross-section revealed three distinct layers: two sablé layers and the white chocolate centre, each approximately 2 mm thick.

The sablé had a moist shortbread texture with a flexible bend. It delivered a mellow sweetness and warm buttery flavour, though it was slightly less moist than the La France version. The caramel centre complemented this with a fruity caramel flavour, enhanced by the addition of apple juice and apple fibre, which contributed a subtle thickness and layered sweetness without the acidity typically associated with fresh apple.
Overall, this cookie offered an enjoyable contrast between the drier, mellow notes of the sablé and the creamy, richer apple caramel centre. Its balanced sweetness made it a delightful treat.
