With a refreshingly straightforward name, I Am Cake I Am Bread is a Korean bakery located near West Ryde Station, offering a selection of both savoury and sweet baked goods.

Salt Butter Roll ($3.90).
Measuring approximately 12 cm in length, this was quite sizeable for its type. The bread was light and moist due to the butter, but it lacked a pronounced butter flavour and the tender chew expected in this style of bread. The exterior was also disappointingly soft rather than crisp. The highlight was the sea salt crystals on top, which provided most of the flavour. Ultimately, it was not worth repurchasing.

Twist Doughnut ($4.10)
At around 20 cm in length, this doughnut had a crisp exterior and a light, fluffy interior. However, much like the butter roll, the dough lacked the satisfying chew that elevates a good twist doughnut. While it was enjoyable, it inevitably drew comparisons to the flawless version from Wonder Twist in Korea. That said, this was still pleasant enough that we would consider eating it again.

I Am Cake I Am Bread is located at 16 West Parade, West Ryde NSW 2114.
