This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Kagoshima Passion Fruit, made with juice from passion fruit grown in the warm climate of Kagoshima Prefecture.
Each gummy had an opaque red-purple hue, measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with a sweet yet tangy passionfruit aroma. The sugar crystals on the surface provided an initial burst of sweetness, followed by a firm, bouncy chew. Unlike other flavours in this series, these gummies lacked a softer, jelly-like core. The passionfruit flavour emerged after the initial sweetness, starting mellow before developing into its signature tart, tropical intensity, peaking in the finish. However, the aroma of passionfruit was more pronounced than its taste, and the absence of a jammy centre meant the flavour leaned more towards tangy tartness rather than a balanced sweet tropical depth. Despite this, the texture and overall flavour remained enjoyable, making these gummies worth purchasing.
