This is the Tip Top Bakery English Muffins Pizza Flavoured, a limited edition release in March 2025. They contained tomato powder, herbs, spices, and dehydrated vegetables.
Each muffin measured approximately 7 cm in diameter and 2 cm in thickness, with the two halves easily separable by twisting. The exterior was dusted with semolina, while the interior had an orange-yellow hue.
Toasted for 2.5 minutes, the muffins remained very moist, soft, and tender, with a slightly ‘gummy’ centre. Flavour-wise, they offered an immediately recognisable pizza profile, with a tomato base that carried a distinct tomato flavour. Certain bites revealed a welcome, pronounced sharpness from the basil. The tomato presence was noticeable without being overpowering, allowing the muffins to maintain their predominantly savoury profile.
A longer toasting time would have enhanced the texture, making them an excellent base for toppings such as mozzarella, fresh tomato, and basil, offering a fresh take on both an English muffin and a Margherita pizza. Overall, when well-toasted, these were a flavourful and satisfying snack, making them worth repurchasing.
