This is the Ocean Chef Crumbed Prawn Nuggets, comprising 50% prawn and 40% crumbed coating.
Each box contained 12 nuggets, which were cooked from frozen in an air fryer preheated to 180ºC for 8–10 minutes, turning once halfway through.
The nuggets developed a golden, audibly crisp exterior that gave the impression of deep frying. At the 10-minute mark, they remained slightly oily; extending the cooking time slightly would likely yield a drier result. Despite this, the crumbed coating was satisfyingly crisp, while the prawn filling remained juicy and light with a strong prawn flavour. Though visually similar to chicken nuggets, the flavour more closely resembled that of prawn toast—distinctly savoury and satisfying in its own right, though not a direct substitute for chicken nuggets. These would be a welcome repurchase.
