This is the DJ&A Freeze Dried Kyohō Grapes, with each 25 g pack produced from approximately 150 g of fresh imported Kyohō grapes.

Each piece measured roughly 2.5 cm in diameter, with around 25 grapes per pack. The grapes retained their dark purple-red skin, encased in a crisp sugar shell. On tasting, the initial texture was light and crunchy, with the interior white flesh rapidly rehydrating on the palate into an intensely sweet, concentrated grape flavour. The musky character typical of dark grapes was preserved, yet greatly amplified by the absence of moisture.
The skin offered a subtle chew and carried the most pronounced muscat-like intensity, adding depth to the sweetness. The sugar shell contributed a crackling texture reminiscent of tánghúlu, reinforcing the contrast between the brittle exterior and the melting sweetness of the interior. However, the overall experience skewed excessively sweet; the natural lack of acidity in Kyohō grapes meant there was insufficient contrast to balance the flavour profile.

This DJ&A Freeze Dried Kyohō Grapes contained 25 g. It was produced in Australia using imported grapes and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
