This is the Mug & Pot Orange Osmanthus Oolong.

This blend featured pyramid tea bags containing Dong Ding oolong combined with golden osmanthus petals.

When steeped—one bag in 200 mL of just-boiled water for 2.5 minutes—the liquor displayed a clear light yellow hue and released a fragrant aroma dominated by sweet osmanthus. The leaf material unfurled fully within the pyramid bag, revealing whole leaf pieces interspersed with visible golden osmanthus blossoms.
Consumed hot, the osmanthus was notably more expressive in aroma than in taste. While its signature floral scent was pronounced in the steam, it presented more subtly on the palate, without the overt sweetness suggested by the nose. The oolong base shaped the overall flavour profile, contributing a soft floral sweetness, buttery body, and a smooth finish. The osmanthus, rather than overpowering, served to enrich the floral character and add aromatic dimension.
Overall, a well-executed blend with clear botanical integrity and a smooth, balanced profile. High quality for a bagged tea and worth repurchasing.
This Mug & Pot Orange Osmanthus Oolong contained 12 g (2 g x 6 tea bags). The tea was sourced from Taiwan and purchased in Sendai, Japan in 2024.
