This is the Bibigo Bao Vegetable & Pork Flavoured Buns, containing plant-based minced meat (8%), onion (4%), water chestnut (3%), cabbage (3%), and green onion (1%).

The bun texture was light and fluffy, without chewiness or density, and ideal for this style. The filling was savoury, with a pleasant crunch from the water chestnut. The plant-based minced meat integrated well with the sauce, producing a cohesive and satisfying bite. It was juicy without being soggy, and texturally varied. The flavour profile was convincingly pork-like, with the plant-based meat resembling the style of ‘meat’ found in some instant noodle packs. The vegetables were balanced and did not overpower the filling. While the interior was less generous than depicted on the packaging, the flavour and texture were better than many buns found both in restaurants and in the frozen aisle.
Overall, this was a texturally excellent bun with a convincing plant-based filling, quick and easy to prepare, but not compelling enough for repeat purchase.

This Bibigo Bao Vegetable & Pork Flavoured Buns contained 320 g. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
