Nose Fuyūgaki Cider

This is the Nose Fuyūgaki Cider, containing 2% juice from Nara Prefecture’s Fuyū persimmons grown on Noriuchi Fruit Farm.

The beverage had a clear orange hue with a tropical aroma reminiscent of papaya and banana, accompanied by a fine, even carbonation.

When consumed chilled, it presented those same tropical notes of papaya and banana from the outset, mellow and rounded and sweet, before briefly intensifying through the body. The effervescence emerged mid-sip, clearing the persimmon flavour rapidly from the sweetness ahead of a clean, fleeting finish. While the carbonation added a refreshing quality, it somewhat diminished the delicate persimmon profile, which might have benefitted from a gentler level of fizz to better sustain the fruit’s soft sweetness and depth.

Overall, a distinctive and uncommon cider with gentle tropical fruit notes, though the subtlety of the persimmon flavour was somewhat eclipsed by its carbonation.

This Nose Fuyūgaki Cider contained 200 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
