The Kirin Namacha in its caffeinated original bottle made it my favourite beverage during our Japan 2019 trip. Since then, they’ve released a decaffeinated version — Kirin Namacha Decaf.
The tea is a translucent, slightly cloudy golden yellow-green colour with a rich, rounded green tea aroma. Served chilled, the green tea came through with rich umami notes at the head of each sip before the characteristic vegetal notes of steamed green tea develop to an incredible depth in the body but without any hint of bitterness throughout the sip. The slightest astringency lingered and gave a clean and refreshing aftertaste to this smooth, full-bodied tea. I’m a fan.
This Kirin Namacha Decaf contained 430 ml. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
