The tea comes in pyramid tea bags of green tea grown by small-scale farmers in remote Jiang Xi province and scented with jasmine flowers in China.
Steeping one tea bag in 200 mL of 82°C water for 1.5 minutes the infusion was a clear golden yellow colour with a fragrant jasmine aroma. Served hot, gentle jasmine notes came through at the start of the sip and give way briefly to crisp hints of uncooked Packham pears in the body before a buttery Chinese green tea finishes the sip and leaves a brief aftertaste of jasmine and a mild astringency lingering on the palate. The jasmine notes are bright and pair surprisingly well with the fresh pear flavour that’s without acidity or sweetness and allow the jasmine green tea base to shine.
