This is the Hòa Hưng Tofu Soy Yoghurt Mango ($6.50) from Hòa Hưng Tofu. It featured drinkable soy yoghurt blended with mango and topped with agar pearls.
The beverage had an opaque yellow hue with a clear layer, possibly sugar syrup or whey, at the top. Specks of mango purée and orange-hued agar pearls settled at the base. Consumed shaken and chilled, the initial mango flavour was vibrant, reminiscent of mango frozen yoghurt with a sweet and soft acidity. However, by mid-sip, the mango flavour became somewhat artificial as the beany notes of the soy yoghurt emerged, dominating the finish with a bold tartness and a noticeable grittiness from the soy solids. The agar pearls added bouncy texture, but disappointingly were not flavoured. Overall, this drink lacked the smoothness of other soy drinks available at Hòa Hưng Tofu, and was not worth repurchasing.
