This is the Lychee Cherry Blossom ($8.90, fixed sweetness, fixed ice) a season-limited release by CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice to celebrate the arrival of spring. The drink was a rose pink colour with layers of white pearls and lychee flesh followed by a dollop of salty cream to add visual interest to the strawberry slush.
Consumed chilled and mixed, notes of cooked strawberry jam with a bold caramelised sweetness dominates the flavour with the lychee notes coming when we reach the bites of lychee flesh, which are generously portioned. The salty cream add a creamier, thicker mouthfeel without adding a noticeable dairy flavour to our surprise, while the white pearls added enjoyable chewy bites. This is a bright and refreshing drink, although its lack of acidity means it lacked the staying power of the Bubble Gaga.
