This is the Roasted Almond Kernel Milk Tea ($7.60, +$0.80 for upsize, +$1.00 for herbal jelly, no ice, 100% sugar). It featured a milk tea with an almond kernel Ceylon black tea base.
The beverage had an opaque tan hue, with generous portions of herbal jelly nestled at the base. When enjoyed chilled, a robust roasted essence immediately emerged, accompanied by a crisp sweetness that evolved into an aromatic bittersweet depth characteristic of Ceylon black tea in the body. The roasted nutty notes, deeper than those found in hōjicha, imparted a flavour akin to a roasted black tea, carrying the bold essence of oxidized tea. Yet, this was artfully balanced by the presence of milk, which lent a full-bodied mouthfeel without overpowering dairy notes. The rich tea flavour harmonized beautifully with the gentle sweetness and subtle herbal undertones of the soft grass jelly.
Overall, this milk tea presented a winning combination that we would gladly reorder in the future, although we may opt to substitute the herbal jelly for golden pearls for a refreshing twist.
