HeyTea Jasmine Red Guava

This is the Jasmine Red Guava ($9.90; no ice, less sweet) from HeyTea, featuring red guava juice blended with jasmine green tea and milk, and topped with a guava cloud and lime zest.

Advertised as a ‘new’ drink, for all intents and purposes it was identical to the King Jasmine Guava launched three months previously, except that the 9-scented King Jasmine tea had been replaced with HeyTea’s regular jasmine green tea.

The beverage presented identically with an opaque pastel pink base, capped with a white guava cloud and scattered lime zest. Aroma opened with light citrus notes from the lime, supported by a mellow fruit sweetness.

Unlike the previous version, which was intended to be sipped directly from the cup to incorporate the guava cloud and lime zest immediately, this version was recommended to be consumed using HeyTea’s tea-savouring straw from the base of the cup. As a result, initial contact led with the red guava rather than the garnish. The fruit profile carried characteristic notes reminiscent of strawberry, banana and pear, supported by a soft, restrained sweetness. Through the mid-palate, the jasmine green tea introduced a gentle floral layer that resolved into a mild astringency towards the finish. By the latter part of the drink, the guava cloud gradually integrated, contributing a mellow savoury fruit character and a velvety texture that helped lift the lingering sweetness from the palate. Unfortunately, the narrow tea-savouring straw proved prone to clogging as it drew in the lime zest, disrupting the otherwise smooth progression towards the end of the cup.

Overall, a fruit milk tea with a layered flavour trajectory and gradual textural integration, resulting in a cohesive structure that was slightly undermined by the impractical serving method.

This Jasmine Red Guava was purchased from HeyTea in Sydney, Australia in June 2026.
