This is Bubble Nini’s Four Seasons Oolong Milk Tea ($8.00, large, no ice, no sugar; +$1.00 for brown sugar pearls). The tea is an opaque beige colour the brown sugar pearls at the base giving a marbled pattern around the exterior of the cup, while the grass jelly floats at the top. Consumed chilled, creaminess of the milk came through initially before the brightness of the tea emerged with prominent floral and vegetal notes that are characteristic of the lightly oxidised oolong and hold their own against the dairy notes. The brown sugar pearls bring just enough sweetness to the tea while its chewy texture contrasts with the softer jelly for an enjoyable and fragrant drink.
