This is the Asahi Mitsuya Torotto Pear. It was a seasonal flavour for autumn 2023 and attained its flavour from the use of pear purée and 10% pear juice.
The beverage exhibited a translucent pale yellow hue, accompanied by a crisply sweet aroma reminiscent of Western pears and light carbonation. Upon tasting, the crisp notes of Western pears, akin to the flavour from the fruit’s skin, emerged at the forefront of each sip. These developed into the body with the fragrant melt-in-the-mouth sweetness of the ripe pear’s flesh. This crisp sweetness persisted with a subtle balancing acidity into the finish, where the bubbles cleansed the palate for a clean aftertaste. The overall flavour of this beverage was immensely satisfying, capturing the rich complexity of flavours experienced when biting into a pear and savouring its white flesh. It proved worth considering for repurchase.
