The beverage had a transparent appearance with a darker brown hue than Wong Lo Kat and a more aromatic herbal aroma. Consumed chilled, its herbal notes were immediately pronounced, in contrast to Wong Lo Kat’s initial sweetness and more subdued herbal presence. This stronger herbal profile carried through to the body. From mid-sip, chrysanthemum notes became more prominent, contributing a pleasant cooling sensation. In the finish, a bold sweetness emerged, accompanied by lingering herbal flavours reminiscent of traditional Chinese medicine. This aftertaste, however, was less approachable and enjoyable compared to the original Wong Lo Kat, which balanced its flavours more effectively.
