This is the Umajimura Farm Yuzu no Mura, containing 10% yuzu juice. Nestled in Kōchi Prefecture, Umaji Village is home to just 800 people, but it stands tall as a powerhouse for growing yuzu, Kōchi’s iconic citrus fruit. Farmers here grow 800 tons of yuzu every year. The local agriculture co-op produces one of the prefecture’s most cherished drinks, Gokkun Umajimura, a beverage made with yuzu juice, honey, and water.

The beverage had a translucent pale yellow hue with a sweet, tangy, and floral yuzu aroma, without carbonation. When consumed chilled, the sip began with an initial honeyed sweetness, followed by the vibrant brightness of the yuzu emerging mid-sip, with pronounced and lingering floral notes. A bright tartness peaked in the finish. The impeccable aroma of the yuzu and the elegant sweetness of the honey enhanced the natural floral notes of the fruit while balancing its tartness with refinement and restraint. Although it shared a similar aroma and flavour profile with the Capi Yuzu, this version was notably elevated and is definitely worth repurchasing.
This Umajimura Farm Yuzu no Mura 280 contained 280 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
