Jelly drinks can be a bit of a hit and miss with the jelly often sinking the bottom as in the Dashing Industrial Mesona Grass Jelly Herbal Tea. This Taisun Lychee Jelly Drink with 5% lychee juice, however, is a hit.
The drink was a translucent pale straw colour with 5mm cubes of nato de coco suspended throughout and a lightly sweet lychee nose. Served chilled, a sugary sweetness came through before floral lychee notes develop with a slight acidity in the body before finishing with prominent notes of lychee. The notes of lychee are immensely balanced in sweetness and acidity, being strong without a ‘perfume’ intensity, while the viscosity of the drink helps suspend the nato de coco throughout, so there are tiny bouncy cubes in every sip.
This Taisun Lychee Jelly Drink contained 320 g. It was produced in Taiwan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
