Marusan Hitotsu Ue no Tōnyū Black Tea

This is the Marusan Hitotsu Ue no Tōnyū Black Tea, made with 4% soybean solids from domestically grown premium ruri sayaka soybeans and Assam black tea.

The beverage had a tan hue and a delicate aroma reminiscent of quality milk tea. Consumed chilled, it offered a creamy, viscous mouthfeel akin to a well-made milk tea that gently spread across the palate. The Assam black tea imparted a pronounced aromatic flavour, free from astringency or bitterness. The use of premium soybeans effectively masked the “green” and astringent notes often associated with regular soybeans, resulting in a clean and refined finish.

Overall, this soy milk had an elegant aroma and a rich yet refreshing taste, with a creaminess that surpassed Kikkoman’s already enjoyable version. It is a milk tea worth repurchasing and would also serve as an excellent base for bubble tea.

This Marusan Hitotsu Ue no Tōnyū Black Tea contained 200 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sendai, Japan in 2024.
