Nespresso Kazaar

The Nespresso Kazaar is a ‘blend of two Robustas from Brazil and Guatemala and a separately roasted Arabica from South America’.

The coffee is split roasted, with the Robustas intensely and quickly roasted and the Arabica roasted longer and more gently. Its the most intense coffee capsule on offer by Nespresso with an intensity rating of 12 out of 13.

This intensity was evident in the aroma of the espresso – the most intense and rich of all the capsules we’ve tried – with an opaque deep brown colour. Prepared as a long black with a 1 to 1 water:espresso ratio, a powerful bitterness in the head builds to an exceptional intensity in the body before the bitterness evolves into a peppery finish with a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. Overall, the coffee was strong and full-bodied, and well suited to pairing with milk to mellow the bitterness somewhat and to enhance its creaminess.

This Nespresso Kazaar contained 10 x 5.3 g capsules. It was produced in Switzerland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
