This is the Nesprseso Master Origin India. The blend comprised monsooned Robusta and Indian Arabica, both dark-roasted. This monsooning process, specific to India’s southwest coast, involves subjecting the beans to months of monsoonal winds, causing them to swell and dry repeatedly.

The coffee was encased in a sage green-hued capsule with darker green text and carried an intensity raiting of 11 out of 13.

When brewed as an espresso, the liquid had a clear, dark brown color and emitted a strongly roasted coffee aroma. Served black in a 1:1 ratio of espresso to water, the woody undertones were evident in each sip, with noticeable spicy notes in the body. These flavors lingered through the finish, where a deep bitterness emerged, reminiscent of cocoa. Following Nespresso’s recommendation, we opted to enjoy the coffee with a splash of milk as a latte macchiato. This preparation retained the enduring wood and spice aromas, maintaining the coffee’s intense character while smoothing out the strong bitterness in the finish.
In summary, this coffee was marked by bold roasted notes, pronounced bitterness, and minimal acidity, creating a highly enjoyable experience, especially when paired with milk.
This Nespresso Master Origin India contained 10 x 5.5 g capsules. It was produced in Switzerland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
