This is the Yun Feng Sugar Osmanthus, containing at least 20% osmanthus flowers.
The syrup had a pourable consistency with a translucent yellow hue, and osmanthus flowers suspended throughout. Its aroma was mild, and when tasted on its own or in a beverage, the syrup lacked a strong osmanthus flavour. To fully experience the floral apricot notes of the osmanthus, consuming the actual flowers was necessary. This was a notable contrast to the Bakerdream Osmanthus Flower Tea, which set a high standard with its thick, paste-like consistency and intensely concentrated osmanthus flavour. Overall, while we prefer the Bakerdream version, we would still repurchase Yun Feng for use in osmanthus coffees, as it is the only widely available option in Sydney.
