This is the Eikokuya Melon Black Tea.

The tea consisted of tea bagged looseleaf broken leaf black tea scented with melon.

Steeping one tea bag for 3 minutes in 200 mL of water at 85ºC, the infusion was a clear amber colour with a sweet honeydew melon aroma. Served hot, with the caramel sweetness of the black tea coming through ahead of the melon notes in the finish. The melon flavour was subtler than the aroma would suggest, giving it a more natural quality. A prominent bitterness from the black tea finishes the sip with a lingering astringency. Overall, it is impressive that the melon flavour holds its own in this strong black tea without veering into artificiality.

This Eikokuya Melon Black Tea contained 6 tea bags. The tea originated in Sri Lanka and was purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2014.
