Lupicia Qutea

This Lupicia Qutea is a limited edition tea available only from the Tokyu Department Store in Shibuya.

The looseleaf is a low-caffeine blend of black tea flavoured with muscat grape and La France pear fragrance. The cornflowers and silver dragées add a touch of colour that matches the label.

Steeping 3 g of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 85°C for 3 minutes, the infusion was a clear red colour with specks of silver floating throughout and a sweet and fruity grape aroma. Served hot, crisply rich notes of La France pear came through with a refined fragrance at the head of each sip before the flavour developed with the more pronounced sweetness of muscat grapes in the finish and linger in the aftertaste. Overall, we enjoy this low-caffeine black tea, which brought out the brightness of its flavouring fruits with no astringency.

This Lupicia Qutea contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from Sri Lanka, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2019.
