Takesawa Seicha Chasobi Hōjicha with Coffee

This is the Takesawa Seicha Chasobi Hōjicha with Coffee.

Each tea bag contained a blend of crushed coffee (from Brazil, Colombia, and other regions) and hōjicha (from Japan).

Steeping a 3 g tea bag in 200 mL of water at 90°C for 2 minutes produced a translucent dark brown infusion with a deeply roasted aroma reminiscent of hōjicha, but with a stronger bitter nuance characteristic of roasted coffee.

When consumed hot, the tea presented a smooth and rounded mouthfeel. The roasted coffee notes emerged immediately at the head of each sip, rich yet free from harsh bitterness or astringency. In the body, the roasted green tea contributed a mellow and natural sweetness that softened and deepened the overall flavour, leading to a balanced finish where the coffee gradually gave way to the warmth of the hōjicha. The roasted notes lingered gently and briefly in the aftertaste.

Overall, a refined and distinctive fusion, harmonising the earthy depth of coffee with the gentle sweetness and restraint of roasted green tea.

This Takesawa Seicha Chasobi Hōjicha with Coffee contained 24 g (3 g x 8 tea bags). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Fukushima, Japan in 2024.
