This is the T2 Geisha Getaway.
The loose leaf consisted of a blend of sencha with pineapple bits and coconut.
Infusing 3 g of looseleaf in 200 mL of water at 80ºC for 2.5 minutes, the tea was a golden yellow-green colour with a pineapple and coconut aroma. Consumed chilled, the pineapple came through with a refreshing tropical flavour at the head of each sip, buoyed by delicate vegetal notes from the green tea base, before the gentle sweetness of coconut flesh came through in the finish and lingered gently in the aftertaste.
Overall, the tea was very reminiscent of the flavour of a pina colada without the prominent acidity of the pineapple and with bold coconut notes. I’m not a fan of the latter, so for my pineapple flavoured teas, I prefer the brighter flavour of the Lupicia Pineapple Oolong or Lupicia Pineapple Barley Tea.
This T2 Geisha Getaway contained 100 g. It was packed in Morocco and received as a gift from acquaintances in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
