It’s Corn opened in September 2023, with corn as its focus. On offer were a selection of grilled corn smothered in various condiments as well as something for the sweet tooth —
Sweet Corn Ice Cream ($6.00). It featured corn flavoured ice cream, freeze dried corn and fresh corn.
The soft serve had a yellow corn-colour and delivered a gentle sweetness with a mellow, subtle savoury corn flavour reminiscent of powdered corn in corn potage, complemented by a hint of vanilla and a restrained dairy presence. The freeze-dried corn added a pleasant crunch and enhanced the corn flavour. However, the slice of ‘fresh’ corn was somewhat disappointing, lacking the vibrant sweetness of fresh corn and tasting more like frozen corn from Aldi. That aside, we enjoyed the subtle savoury sweetness in this unique flavour offering.
