This 1201 AhHa! Mango is produced under licence by the Manbulloo Fruit Company and is a hybrid of Irwin and Kensington Pride. It is a unique variety developed for its improved disease resistance, reduced tree vigour, adaptability to various climates, consistent production, and suitability for high-density cultivation—attributes that are often lacking or inconsistent in a Kensington Pride.
The fruit was slightly smaller in size than a Kensington Pride, weighing approximately 375 g, and featured yellow skin with a soft red to dark red blush. When ripe, the mango lacked the vibrant fragrance characteristic of a Kensington Pride but had a firm feel akin to an R2E2. It had a thin skin and contained yellow-orange-hued flesh, which was soft with minimal fibre, even near the seed, resembling the size of a Kensington Pride. The flavour recalled a Kensington Pride, albeit with its sweet richness diluted and a tangy tartness introduced. While we appreciated the low-fibre and soft flesh, we do not view it as a substitute for the distinctively sweet and subtly spicy notes found in a Kensington Pride.

This 1243 Yess! Mango is a hybrid of Irwin and Kensington Pride, and an early season variety maturing two to four weeks earlier than Kensington Pride. Produced under license by the Manbulloo Fruit Company, it is a unique variety developed for its improved disease resistance, reduced tree vigour, adaptability to various climates, consistent production, and suitability for high-density cultivation—attributes that are often lacking or inconsistent in a Kensington Pride.
The mango, weighing approximately 500 g and resembling the size of a Kensington Pride, had a yellow skin with a pronounced pink to red blush. When ripe, it emitted a fragrance reminiscent of a mellow Kensington Pride and had a soft firmness with a subtle yield under pressure. The skin was a medium thickness similar to a Kensington Pride and enclosed orange-hued flesh that was soft with minimal fiber, even near the seed which was thin and small. The flavor recalled a Kensington Pride, yet with its sweet and spicy notes intensified to the point of evoking associations with mango chutney and lacking the usual balancing hint of fresh acidity. While we appreciated the low-fibre and soft flesh, we do not consider it a substitute for the distinctively balanced sweet and subtler spicy notes found in a Kensington Pride.
