Tencho Foods Grapefruit

This is the Tencho Foods Grapefruit. It contained peeled segments of grapefruit soaked in a syrup.

The peeled segments were a bright orange hue, more reminiscent of orange segments than the yellow hue of grapefruit suggested by the image on the tin. Upon tasting, the segments exhibited a fresh and firm texture akin to fresh fruit segments, with the majority of them remaining intact. Biting into them released bursts of citrus flavor, though the distinct identification as grapefruit was only subtly apparent through a hint of bitterness. The accompanying syrup was proved suitable as a sweetening base for a tea-based drink (similar to bubble tea with instant tapioca pearls), adding a citrusy quality to the sweetness. However, overall, these segments did not instill confidence in their identity as grapefruit and were not worth repurchasing.

This Tencho Foods Grapefruit contained 312 g. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
