Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Shrimp and Tomato

This is the Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Shrimp and Tomato.

The noodles featured a noodle cake accompanied by toppings of dehydrated shrimp skin, pork (made from pork and chicken), egg and vegetables (tomato and green onion).

Upon opening the package, the noodles released a rich shrimp aroma with savoury tomato notes. After rehydrating them with boiling water up to the designated line inside the cup for 3 minutes, the soup base transformed into an opaque red-orange hue, with a slight viscosity that allowed it to adhere to the noodles. Upon tasting, the soup base revealed a deeply savoury profile with a robust shrimp and tomato flavour, where the tomato essence came through without its fresher acidity or sweetness. The rehydrated vegetables were abundant, and the ‘pork’ contributed slivers of a subtle soy-meat-like texture with a generic meat flavour. However, the rehydrated egg was rather unremarkable, lacking any resemblance to egg. The texture of the noodles was typical of Nissin Cup Noodles—they retained their bite after rehydration but lacked the elasticity of stove-cooked noodles.

In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed the aromatic presence of shrimp and tomato in these noodles, a stark contrast to the relatively indistinct flavor of the Chilli Tomato variant. As a result, we would consider repurchasing this particular flavor.
