This is the Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Thai Crab Curry.
The noodles featured a noodle cake accompanied by toppings of dehydrated egg, onion, green onion and pollack fish meat. The curry powder contained star anise, ginger, coriander, chilli, and dried tangerine peel.
Upon unsealing the package, the noodles had a fragrant curry aroma. After rehydrating them with boiling water up to the designated line inside the cup for 3 minutes, the soup base transformed into an opaque golden yellow hue, with a slight viscosity that allowed it to coat the noodles. Upon tasting, the soup base released a fragrant curry flavour, aromatic with an unmistakable presence of crab that imparted bold oceanic undertones. The rehydrated crab stick pieces complemented the crab flavour well, and the egg absorbed the curry. While we haven’t tried a Thai-style crab curry to assess the authenticity of the flavour, this curry had a subtle hint of spicy heat at the back of the throat, but it was milder compared to Thai cuisine generally. Nevertheless, the combination of crab and curry resulted in a very tasty flavour that we would consider repurchasing.
