Tomatoes are an absolute love for me, and so it stands to reason that bolognese is one of my favourite flavours. This here is Heinz Big Eat Ravioli Bolognese. I’m a fan of the Big N Chunky Ravioli with Beef and Tomato also by Heinz so I had high hopes.

After emptying the contents of the can into a bowl, place in the microwave on high for 1 minute before stirring and heating for a further minute.

The soup is bright red and flecked with herbs and mince, with a generous serving of ravioli. The ravioli is pretty standard, and the soup is very thick – more like a thin paste than a soup – but the real weakness in this soup is in its flavour. It’s super salty – almost to the point of bitterness – without enough sweetness from the tomatoes to balance it out.
I bolognese, but this Ravioli Bolognese Big Eat by Heinz isn’t something I’d return to, especially when the Big N Chunky Ravioli with Beef and Tomato also by Heinz hits all the right spots.
This Heinz Big Eat Ravioli Bolognese contained 400 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
