Arnott’s Tim Tam Crafted Collection Sunshine Coast Strawberries & Cream

A strawberry grower on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland who sought to save tens of thousands of tonnes of Australian fruit rejected by supermarkets for aesthetic reasons at the peak of growing seasons is said to have inspired Arnott’s ‘Crafted Collection’ series which markets the provenance of the ingredients used in the product. Twenty tonnes of the rejected strawberries were used in this new limited edition Arnott’s Tim Tam Crafted Collection Sunshine Coast Strawberries and Cream.

The biscuit consisted of a strawberry cream containing strawberry powder (0.4%, equivalent to 5% fresh strawberry) sandwiched between two chocolate biscuits and enrobed in milk chocolate (33%).

The fresh aroma of fresh strawberries was evident just from opening the packaging. Upon tasting, the bright sweetness of strawberries bursts through with a creaminess that recalled a strawberry flavoured ice cream and contrasts well with the crunchy biscuits that attempt to counter the sweetness of the centre. This is a Tim Tam for a very sweet tooth and a chewy and tart strawberry centre without the creaminess would’ve added textural interest and respite from the sweetness for a more enjoyable experience.

This Arnott’s Tim Tam Crafted Collection Sunshine Coast Strawberries and Cream contained 9 biscuits or 160 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2020.
