The variations of Pocky are endless. There are, of course, the dizzying number of fudge flavours for regular Pocky, the chocolate flavoured biscuit sticks, the upsized giant versions, and then, amongst other variations, also mousse Pocky. This is Glico Pocky Matcha Mousse with a creamy matcha mousse-like fudge that’s 2-3 times thicker than regular Pocky.
Matcha Mousse Pocky (left) has thicker fudge than even the Glico Giant Pocky Uji Matcha (right), which already has a thicker fudge than regular Pocky. The thick mousse creates a curious sensation as your teeth sink into something soft before reaching the crispy biscuit stick. While soft, though, it retains iitsshape at room temperature.
The mousse in the Glico Pocky Matcha Mousse (above) is a much lighter shade of green than the Glico Giant Pocky Uji Matcha (below). This lighter shade reflects in the intensity of the matcha flavour in the Mousse. It’s there, but it’s very faint. This is unlike the Glico Giant Pocky Uji Matcha that leaves you in no doubt as to its matcha flavour with the presence of the slightly bitter, grassy flavours of a good matcha, although the biscuit stick itself is matcha flavoured as well, giving it that extra kick.
