This is the Meiji Choco Snack Take no Sato x Chez Shibata Yuzu Scented Hazelnut Praline, a chocolate snack featuring yuzu white chocolate and hazelnut chocolate. It contained 1% hazelnut, 0.2% yuzu juice and 0.2% Lorraine rock salt.

Each package contained 26 pieces, each shaped like a bamboo shoot and measuring 2.5 cm in height with a 1.5 cm diameter. Each piece featured a firm biscuit base topped with yuzu white chocolate and hazelnut chocolate. Aroma opened with nutty hazelnut notes.

Initial contact delivered relatively soft resistance as the teeth sank through the chocolate layers, before reaching the firm, dense crunch of the biscuit base. The biscuit formed only the base rather than extending through the chocolate component, creating a clear textural separation.
Through the mid-palate, the chocolate melted to release the warm nuttiness of the hazelnut paste alongside a thick creaminess. Towards the finish, yuzu emerged with a soft, floral-zesty profile without introducing noticeable acidity. This produced an overall impression of citrus-flavoured chocolate, but with a much more muted and smooth presence than the sharper profile typically associated with Western orange chocolate, with the hazelnut helping to soften and round the citrus character.
The biscuit provided a persistent crunch against the smooth, relatively cool chocolate, while the finish introduced a touch of salt that sharpened the remaining hazelnut and yuzu notes without becoming a dominant flavour.
Overall, a chocolate snack with a nutty-to-citrus flavour progression and integrated soft-to-crunchy textural development, resulting in a smooth and restrained interpretation of citrus chocolate.
