This is the Pastelaria Chui Heong Egg Rolls, made by the same bakery renowned for its charcoal-grilled almond cookies.
Each egg roll measured approximately 15 cm in length and 2 cm in diameter, featuring a light golden hue and a mellow, sweet, eggy aroma.
On tasting, the egg roll had a crisp and flaky texture, biting through easily without being overly crunchy or crumbly. The flavour offered a gentle sweetness characteristic of egg rolls, complemented by a savoury note reminiscent of salted egg yolk. Overall, the interplay of crispness, savoury egg flavour, and sweetness achieved a harmonious balance, making these egg rolls ones we would happily repurchase.
