The pudding had an opaque pale green hue with a sweet vanilla and soybean aroma. When eaten chilled, it offered the same silky smooth texture as the original soy pudding. However, the combination of the grassy vanilla notes from the pandan with the soybean created an unexpectedly chemical-like flavour that was rather unpleasant. This was further intensified by the sugary sweetness accompanying the pandan. We were surprised by our dislike of this soy pudding, especially given our familiarity with and enjoyment of pandan-flavoured soy milk from Asian supermarkets.
