Bourbon Puchi Ebisen

This is the Bourbon Puchi Ebisen.

Each package contained 55 crackers, each measuring 3 cm in diameter and 1.5 mm in thickness.

Each piece consisted of a rice-based cracker topped with shrimp and seaweed seasoning. The aroma was mildly savoury but lacked the characteristic oceanic scent typically associated with shrimp rice crackers.

The crackers were light and crisp, as expected from a rice-based snack, but did not quite resemble a traditional ebi senbei. The base flavour was that of a slightly savoury rice cracker, with some pieces carrying a salty seaweed note. Even those with visible shrimp seasoning did not exhibit a strong ebi flavour, instead contributing only a deeper savouriness. That said, for the very accessible price, it was a reasonably enjoyable snack, with the quality of its flavour and ingredients aligning with its affordability.

This Bourbon Puchi Ebisen contained 33 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
