Calbee Kappa Ebisen French Salad

This is the Calbee Kappa Ebisen French Salad.

The crackers were extruded pieces with a lightly ridged surface, each measuring approximately 5.5 cm in length and 0.5 cm in diameter. They had a beige base colour dusted with red, green, and white seasoning, and carried a sharp, tangy aroma reminiscent of a vinaigrette.

On tasting, the surface delivered an immediate tanginess before giving way to a light, crisp crunch. The salad seasoning was most prominent at the beginning of each bite as it dissolved, but it faded quickly by mid-bite, allowing the notes of onion, garlic, parsley, to meld with the underlying shrimp-rich dough taking over. As a result, the French salad character appeared at the front of the palate but became faint through the body of the chew, with the shrimp flavour ultimately defining the finish.

Overall, this offered a brief hit of tangy salad seasoning before settling firmly into its familiar shrimp-forward profile, making it more of a lightly dressed variation than a true flavour departure.

This Calbee Kappa Ebisen French Salad contained 64 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2025.
