This Calbee Potato Chip Nori Shio is the #1 flavour in Calbee’s snack brands in Japan.
These have a moreish aroma of seaweed in the packaging, which on tasting, came through as a mellow umami-rich flavour with prominent seaweed notes in the first few bites before it faded and our taste buds yearn for a stronger flavour. The chips themselves are very thin and brittle, despite delivering an audible crunch. Overall, we enjoy these chips and find them easy to eat, but we do prefer a thicker cut chip with a bolder flavour.
