This is the Kameda Seika Ume no Ka Maki. They’re rice crackers flavoured with ume and wrapped in roasted seaweed.

Each cracker was individually wrapped for freshness and is about 4.5 x 3 x 0.8 cm in size.

The cracker had a gentle aroma of soy sauce and ume. Upon tasting, the roasted nori was crisp while the cracker was crunchy. While the nori absorbed the moisture on contact, it simultaneously released an umami that was swiftly backed by the deep richness of the soy sauce glazing the cracker and gentle ume notes, which are an enjoyable, notable yet subtle, twist on the classic flavour. They’re moreish, so the individual packaging of the crackers gave us a moment to pause and avoid inhaling the bag all at once.
This Kameda Seika Ume no Ka Maki contained 16 pieces or 48 g. It was produced in China and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
