This is the Moti Crispy&Crunch Chips Fried Chicken, a Korean snack with a sweet–savoury profile, styled after Korean fried chicken.
The chips were pale beige in colour—considerably lighter than depicted on the packaging—with a rectangular shape measuring approximately 4 × 3.5 × 0.5 cm. They had a glossy, sweet–savoury aroma characteristic of Korean fried snack seasoning. On tasting, the sweetness was dominant from the outset, continuing through the bite. The flavour resembled yangnyeom sauce—sweet, sticky, and spiced—more evocative of the batter on fried chicken than the chicken itself. A mild chicken note emerged toward the finish, lingering subtly in the aftertaste. The promised “crispy and crunchy” texture was fully delivered, with a satisfying snap and lightness.
Despite the excellent textural quality, the chip was ultimately let down by its cloying sweetness and lack of flavour nuance. The savoury undertone helped temper this to some degree, but not enough to make the flavour compelling. While it succeeded as a textural novelty, it lacked the flavour depth to justify a repeat purchase.
