This is the Nongshim Shrimp Cracker Black Italian Truffle. It contained 17% shrimp, 0.017% black truffle powder from Italy and 0.16% olive oil from Spain.
The crackers were a golden brown colour — far more so than the regular flavour — with a pungent aroma of truffle on opening the packaging. Upon tasting, a mild shrimp flavour came through at the head before developing with an oily mouthfeel — much like a cold, deep-fried and oily chip — which released a rich truffle flavour that lingered long and heavy on the palate with its earthiness. The shrimp crackers certainly had a black truffle flavour, but we’re not fans of the ‘oily’ mouthfeel of the olive oil used to deliver it.
This Nongshim Shrimp Cracker Black Italian Truffle contained 80 g. It was produced in South Korea and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2022.
